Пожалуй, самым ярким музыкальным событием 2003 года стал приезд в Киев Роберта Планта. 14 августа вечером в "Олимпийском" он дал первый и единственный в Украине концерт. Лидер "LED ZEPPELIN" в очередной раз развенчал слухи о воссоединении группы. Но всё же исполнил несколько старых хитов.
Роберт Плант приехал в Киев с новыми песнями и новой командой - "Strange Sensation". Уже за несколько дней до приезда звезды, его последний альбом "Дримленд" найти в городе было практически невозможно. Это лишний раз доказывает, что "LED ZEPPELIN" мёртв, а Плант не просто жив - здоров, он отлично выглядит и его голос, по-прежнему волнует слушателей.
Роберт Плант, музыкант: "Тысячу раз мы могли сыграть в Нью-Йорке, что мы и делали постоянно. Сюда же приехать оказалось безумно сложно, зато очень интригующе. И конечно, мы очень рады, что наша музыка, даже старая музыка, которая звучит в новой программе, здесь известна".
В "Олимпийский" музыкант приехал за час до выхода на сцену. Весь день он гулял по городу, был в Лавре, Михайловском, пил на Крещатике кофе и раздавал автографы.
С собой Плант увез украинские сувениры и серебряную георгиевскую медаль, точно такая же есть у Пласидо Доминго. А киевляне ещё долго будут делиться впечатлениями от концерта.
Хит "Лестница в небо", ставший визиткой "LED ZEPPELIN", Плант так и не спел. Он больше не хочет быть живым призраком свинцового дирижабля, навсегда зависшего в воздухе.
Robert Plant’s visit to Kiev has become perhaps the brightest 2003 music event. He had performed his first and the only show in Ukraine in “Olimpiyskiy” on the 14th of August. The “Led Zeppelin” leader had dethroned the band reunion once again. But nevertheless he had performed several old hits.
Robert Plant came to Kiev with his new songs and a new team – “Strange Sensation”. His last “Dreamland” album was practically impossible to find in music stores several days before arrival of the star. This proves that “Led Zeppelin” is dead, and Plant is not just alive but as well he looks great and his voice still excites the listeners.
Robert Plant, the musician: “We could have played in New York for thousands of time, which has been done actually. But it turned out completely difficult to come here, extremely intriguingly though. And of course, we are very glad that our music, even very old one, which sounds in the new program, is known here”.
The musician arrived to “Olimpiyskiy” one hour prior to his appearance on the stage. He had been walking around the city for the whole day, been to Lavra, Michalovskiy, had coffee on Khreshchatik, and signed autographs.
Plant has taken with him some Ukrainian souvenirs and the silver St. George Medal, Placido Domingo has the same. And the Kievers will share their impressions from the show for long time.
Though Plant didn’t sing “Stairway To Heaven”, the hit that had become the calling card of “Led Zeppelin”. He doesn’t want to be the living ghost of the plumbeous airship, which has hanged on in the sky for long.
